Hannah Gadsby: NANETTE

March–May 2018

Role: Company Manager

Venue: SoHo Playhouse - New York, NY

Presented by: WestBeth Entertainment, Barrow Street Productions & Token Events

-

Hannah Gadsby's genre-defying Off-Broadway "anti-comedy" performance of NANETTE was supposed to be her exit from comedy — instead, it launched her to international stardom.

I joined the production during its initial extension, brought in by Gadsby's original Company Manager, now producer and wife, Jenney Shamash.

THEM

June 2018

Role: Stage & Company Manager + Props

Venue: Performance Space New York - East Village

Created by: Chris Cochrane, Dennis Cooper, and Ishamel Houston-Jones

-

In their recent iteration of THEM, the trio Cochrane (musician), Cooper (writer) and Houston-Jones (choreographer) came together to illustrate and illuminate the darkness of the AIDS epidemic for our current generation. Originally created at and premiered in 1986 at PS122 (now Performance Space New York).

I supported the 2018 production as Stage & Company Manager and as the handler of all props, including a real goat carcass for the dream sequence.

Simon Amstell: WHAT IS THIS?

June 2018

Role: Stage & Company Manager

Venue: Theatre 80 - East Village, NY

-

A deeply personal, funny exploration of beauty, intimacy, freedom, sex and love, What Is This? is Simon Amstell's fifth show. Amstell began performing stand-up in his teens, going on to become the youngest-ever finalist of the BBC New Comedy Awards. He started his TV career on Nickelodeon in 1998, until he was fired for making pop stars uncomfortable. He soon found his niche as the co-host of the Channel 4 show, Popworld, where, ironically, he gained a huge following for his groundbreaking work in making pop stars uncomfortable.

Amstell has won two British Comedy Awards, an RTS Award, a Broadcast Award, a Chortle Award and has been nominated for a BAFTA.
